39 STEPS Rehearsal Tonight

Matt Harris, Larry Lesher and I will be meeting this evening to go through some ''Clown'' scenes. It'll be nice to work on these scenes now; as we can take the time to work out the many physical and stylized movements that most of the roles require.

Off Book for THE 39 STEPS

I am happy to report that I am now completely off book for THE 39 STEPS. It's been a lot of fun working on the many characters that I have been given and can't wait to jump into more rehearsals.

THE 39 STEPS Rehearsal Tomorrow

The cast will be meeting once again to block a few more scenes tomorrow night, mostly scenes involving Chris Kateff and Synge Maher, who will be heading to Danville, KY to appear in a few shows at the Pioneer Playhouse. While they are out of town, director Larry Lesher will work with Matt Harris and I on our Clown scenes.

I am happy to report that I am about 85 percent memorized, which is great. I keep drilling the lines on a daily basis...kind of like a workout. It helps a lot.

Lines for ACT ONE of THE 39 STEPS Are Down

Earlier today, I finished memorizing Act One of the play. Still have a long way to go, but it's nice to have conquered one hurdle.

First Blocking Rehearsal Yesterday

We jumped right in and started blocking two scenes yesterday, including part of the ''train'' sequence, one of the most memorable and difficult scenes in the entire play.  No one likes blocking, but in this case, it proved to be a lot of fun as everyone contributed great, imaginative ideas for the scene.

As far as lines thus far, I feel like I'm heading in the right direction. I still have a long way to go, but I feel that I am off to a good start.

Back on the 23rd.

THE 39 STEPS Yesterday and Today

Yesterdays' rehearsal consisted mostly of a discussion of ALL of the technical elements needed for the show, followed by a reading of the script, which was a lot of fun. Lots of fun ideas emerged and I know more will come as we delve deeper into rehearsal.

Today, we will begin blocking a few scenes.

THE 39 STEPS Read Through Tomorrow Afternoon

The cast of THE 39 STEPS are going to meet tomorrow to read through the play and begin the blocking process.

So excited.

Earlier today, I received my copy of Meg Skaff's latest film LINDA LETHORN AND THE MUSIC BOX, where I appear in two brief scenes as Purple Green, the brother of the character I played in last years' TERRY KENDALL AND ORANGE GREEN.

I immediately watched the film and was, as always, blown away by Meg's unique style of filmmaking and storytelling. It's an honor to be a small part of the film and look for the chance to work with her again in the future.

It's Official...I'm ''Clown 2'' in THE 39 STEPS

Here is a breakdown of the roles that I will be playing, as ''Clown 2'' in THE 39 STEPS

Compere (Master of Ceremonies); Heavy 2; Milkman; Salesman 2; Policeman 2; Porter; Pilot 2; Professor Jordan; Sheriff of the County; Mr. McQuarrie; Mr. McGarrigle and Chief Inspector Albright

Earlier today, I started memorizing and I am happy to report that I already have three scenes under my belt  (Long way to go). I had a fun time going through the lines for the role of the Compere....trying different voices and approaches to the character.
It's going to be a blast doing that with the other characters.
So excited!

Todays' shoot was a lot of fun, with everything running smoothly from start to finish. As always, I had a ball working with Greg Vorob and the entire All Things Random crew. Here is a picture of me on set as Greg's boss, Elliott Schmaven.

Tomorrow is the day of the shoot for GREG'S GUARDIAN ANGEL. The shoot will take place at an office in New Jersey. My call is 9am and it's expected that I'll be on set until 3 or 4pm. Should be a fun time.

SPACE CATS Shoot To Be Moved To The Fall

Nothing definite yet, but due to scheduling conflicts, it looks like the SPACE CATS shoot, scheduled for July, will be moved to sometime in the fall. Stay tuned for more on this.

I'm excited about the film shoot on Sunday as I always have a blast working with the gang from All Things Random. It should be an all dsy shoot for me.
