THE WATCHERS Update

I received the following update on THE WATCHERS from Jeff Moffitt

We have been receiving an overwhelming positive response to our film trailer. Over 800 hits on my youtube channel. I also showed the trailer to "Jonathan Lipp", who runs the BAFF "Big Apple Film Festival" which takes place at the "Tribeca Cinemas" on Varick St in November.

Jonathan really likes the trailer and is looking forward to seeing the finished product. We are hoping that we will have the film finished in time to submit it to him for the BAFF.

Thanks for the update Jeff!

Behind the Stills - THE BEACHCOMBER

Behind the Stills is something that writer / director Sean Meehan was telling me about at our meeting a couple of days ago. It's the first ever user-generated HD Video Contest where photographers become filmmakers, and we all see beyond the still. Filmmakers interpret still photographs left at the end of a previous winning chapter. It's a lot of fun.

Sean and I are working on something called THE BEACHCOMBER, a film about mix-ups and mistaken identities. Determined to find his daughter, a cabbie must enlist the help of a mysterious beachcomber in order to infiltrate a shady complex in the hopes of finding and rescuing his loved one.

Our story is a continuation of the following chapters, submitted by different filmmakers and their work is very impressive.

Chapter 1: http://vimeo.com/8595246
Chapter 2: http://vimeo.com/9394817
Chapter 3: http://vimeo.com/10363683
Chapter 4: http://vimeo.com/11434588

I have just read the script that Sean has penned and it's very cool. I will be playing the mysterious Beachcomber. Sean's thinking about filmming next week on Tuesday July 6th and then finish up that following weekend (the 10th or the 11th). It should be a pretty fun shoot.

Looking forward to this one!

Sean Meehan

Director Sean Meehan and I met last week to catch up and discuss a new project that could be a lot of fun.

Stay tuned for the more details.

A MAGIC HELMET Update

I received this from director Gaetano Crupi Jr. regarding the film A MAGIC HELMET.

Dear Cast & Crew,

We are pleased to announce that A MAGIC HELMET has been selected for this year's LA SHORTS FEST. LA Shorts Fest is not only the largest short film festival in the world, but also an Academy Award-qualifying festival.

Thanks again for everyone's continued support. We will keep you posted when screening information is available. The festival takes place during the last week of July.

Gaetano Crupi Jr.
Machina Pictures

I don't have a major part in this film, but I do think it's nice that the film is getting festival exposure. Congrats to the entire cast and crew.

Off Book for RUN FOR YOUR WIFE

With a little more than a month before departing for Danville, I am happy to report that I now completely off book for the role of John Smith in RUN FOR YOUR WIFE. Whew!

I still have a lot of work to do though...but having the lines down is one less thing to worry about, plus it;ll be nice to hit the ground running when rehearsals begin.

Sean Meehan

Sean Meeha, the director of the comedy OVER COFFEE, may have another project coming up that he may want me to be a part of, so hopefully we'll be getting together this week to discuss. I had a great time working with Sean last year, so the chance to work with him again would be a real thrill.

RUN FOR YOUR WIFE

I am now down to the last 6 pages and then I will be completely off book!

I leave for Danville in about a month and I cannot wait to get to work on this play.

GREG'S GUARDIAN ANGEL On Hold

I received this email yesterday from Greg Vorob, regarding GREG'S GUARDIAN ANGEL.

Sadly we have to hold off on GREG'S GUARDIAN ANGEL right now for two reasons. One is because of screenwriter Dan Conrad's upcoming wedding kind of taking up most of his time and energy. Secondly because of MARTY AND DOUG'S NEW RELIGION 2, which is going to begin shooting immediately after the holidays between January and February. The project is going to be the biggest All Things Random/Phalanx has ever done. It requires a lot of work and to work on something like GREG'S GUARDIAN ANGEL at this juncture is just not feasable for a variety of reasons. So hold on to your scripts for GREG'S GUARDIAN ANGEL, as we will likely do it after MARTY AND DOUG'S NEW RELIGION 2 is wrapped. Sorry guys, but WE WILL SEE YOU IN JANUARY FOR M&D2!!!!! {if not before}

RUN FOR YOUR WIFE Lines

I have about 30 pages left to memorize with RUN FOR YOUR WIFE, but over the last week or so, I have been taking a little bit of a break as I don't want to get burned out. With still plenty of time before my departure for Danville on July 27th, I'm going to take my time with the second act of the play. I plan to do a little work today and tomorrow.

THE WATCHERS

The cast and crew of THE WATCHERS received this from Jeff Moffitt yesterday afternoon.

"So far, the overall response to the project is very positive. As you can see we are in good hands with Sy (Cody White). Post production takes a lot of time, but before you know it, the film will be complete. We are planning to enter it in some festivals, possibly list it on IMDb and we will be creating a Watchers web site."

I was impressed with the trailer and hope for big things with THE WATCHERS.

JACK JIMMINY

I just watched a rough edit of JACK JIMMINY a few minutes ago and my reaction is that it's an okay film. It's still being worked on, so a lot of what I saw today my change. As for my performance as Richard Jimminy...it's too big...too theatrical, in my opinion. I mean, he's a guy that's suppossed to be larger than life, but I feel that I go a little over the top.

As I said, the film is still being worked on, so there may be some changes when the film is completely finished.
